A little bit of France came to Porthcawl recently, when the Twinning Association held a coffee and cakes morning at the home of Bobby and Mary Emment-Lewis.

Over the last eighteen months, like everyone, we have held meetings via Zoom and kept in touch via a Newsletter so it was lovely to meet up in the garden, and socialise safely, enjoying the September sunshine while looking back on twenty years of visits to San Sebastien sur Loire, France.

David Bush quizzed us on our knowledge of languages, by asking us to identify the language from which common English words and expressions such as penguin, sinister, khaki and gung-ho
originate.

Sadly, we were not able to meet up with our French friends this year, but we hope to finally meet up with them in France, next year. If you would like to join us then please get in touch-you don’t have to speak French, and it is a great way to make new friends, both here and abroad.

A bientôt.
